The date listed is the earliest date of marriage listed in the family oral history. Also have a copy of a marriage licence and marriage certificate both issued in Yuma County Arizona on March 3, 1945. This certificate says George lived in Compton, California; Iris in Los ngeles, California and that they were married by Mary E Lutes, Justice of the Peace, witnesses were Joseph John Marcorio and Dorothey Marlborough. I, personally, know that Mom and Dad were married again in Carson City, Nev. in 1962. This was done because of a problem with Dad's divorce from his second wife. (Mom was the third wife.) He thought the divorce was final but apparently the final decree was never issued. Don't know what happended between 1942 and 1945.
