Reinier was born in 1154.1   Reinier's father was Rostaing III sn de Sabran and his mother was Rosine de Cailar y de Uzes.  His paternal grandfather was Guillaume de Sabran; his maternal grandparents were Rainon de Cailar and Beatrix de Uzes.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 70 in 1224.1
