Geoffrey was born about 1226.1 Geoffrey's father was Simon de Joinville and his mother was Beatrix de Bourgogne. His paternal grandparents were Geoffroi IV de Joinville and Helwide de Dampierre; his maternal grandparents were Etienne III d'Ivrea and Beatrix de Thiers. He was an only child. He died on October 21st, 1314 in House of the Friars Preachers at Trim, England. He was buried in House of the Friars Preachers at Trim, England.1 1 General Notes

by his wife Isabel Le Bigod. [CP V:629] ES VII:9 is incorrect i n stating that Maud's father was Walter de Lacy..
