hanged
Sir Bartholomew de Badlesmere, 1st Lord Badlesmere, b. ca. 1275 , hanged at Canterbury, Kent, 14 Apr. 1322, of Badlesmere and Ch ilham Castle, Kent, Steward of the King's houshehold, Ambassado r to France, Savoy and the Pope, son of Sir Guncelin de Badlesme re, d. 1301, of Badlesmere, Kent, Justice of Chester, Custodia n of Chester Castle, by his wife Joan. His wife Margaret de Cla re was heiress to her nephew Thomas de Clare, son of Richard d e Clare, 2nd son of Thomas and Juliane (Cal.Inq.p.m VI #275, p . 159). She was therefore sister to Richard, 2nd son, and to Tho mas, 1st son.
note: it seems unlikely that there were 3 daughters, Maud, Marge ry and Margaret.... Maud Badlesmere married de Vere & Fitzpayn ; Margaret married Ros. (& possibly also Tibetot??)
