Sir George was born in Essex. Sir George's father was Sir John Vere and his mother was Elizabeth Howard. His paternal grandparents were Sir Richard de Vere Earl of Oxford and Alice Cergeaux; his maternal grandparents were John Howard and Joan de Walton. He had a half-brother named George. He died in 1526.-
