AEthelbert I of Kent's father was Eormenric of Kent King of Kent. His paternal grandfather was Octa of Kent King of Kent. He was an only child. AEthelbert I of Kent is no longer alive.1 General Notes

Invaded Wessex aft Ceawlin of Wessex had bisected Wales.
His Kentish army, fresh, defeated the weary troops of Wessex.
Thus he became the overking of the English.
Mission of St. Augustine landed & received friendly welcome
from Aethilbert.
His death provoked a reaction against the new Christian faith.
Defeated by Wessex at Battle of Wibbandune (modern Wimbledon?).
