Margaret Keitt
Newberry - Services for Margaret Kinard Keitt, 95, will be held at 10
a.m. today at Whitaker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. David Jones.
Burial will be in Rosemont Cesmetery. Memorials may be made to teh
Presbyterian Home of SC, 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC 29073.
Mrs. Keitt, widow of Joseph Lawrence Keitt Jr., died Saturday at the
Presbyterian Home in Lexington. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of
the late John M. and Margaret Land Kinard. She was a graduate of
Greenville Women's College (Furman University) and taught in the public
schools in Newberry before she married. She was a member of Aveleigh
Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Anna K. McIlwain of Talladega, Ala.,
Margaret K. Smith of LaGrange, Ky.; sister, Elizabeth Norris of Newberry;
grandchildren, Peggy K. Stone of Elizabethtown, Ky., Robert J. Smith of
Granger, Ind., Margaret M. Trammell of Prattsville, Ala., James W.
McIlwain of Talladega, Ala., Mary C. McIlwain of Daphne, Ala. Mrs. Keitt
was predeceased by her sister, Lavinia Rook McCarrel and brothers, Robert
Kinard and John M. Kinard Jr.
