James Madison Head 
James Madison was born on June 9th, 1781. James Madison's father was Richard Head and his mother was Sarah Newport. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Head and Bathsheba Palmer; his maternal grandparents were Peter Newport and Elizabeth Butler. He was an only child. He died at the age of 76 on July 23rd, 1857 in Green, AL.General Notes
James Head received a portion of his father's land on Sandy River, also a
slave, live stock and a portion of household furniture. He was a Baptist
minister and planter on the Goose Pond plantation on the Edisto River, near
the town of Williston in South Carolina.
