Lula was born in Cartersville, S.C..1 Lula's father was Thomas E. Fountain and her mother was Louise Or Louisa Cannon. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Fountain and Mary Howcott. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Hugh Ervin Cannon, Henry William, Theodore Thomas, John, Elizabeth E., Ann Caroline, Mary Frances, Emma I., Alice L., Loraine and Melly. Married James Morgan (Jim) Carter the half brother of James Morgan (Mack) Carter who was the father of Olivia Frances Carter who married Lula's brother, Theodore Thomas Fountain...so that they were brother and sister, and she was his aunt being her sister-in-law's aunt by marriage.
