Richard was born before 1100.1 Richard's father was FITZ RICHARD, Lord Of Clare And Tonbridg and his mother was Adeliza De CLERMONT. His paternal grandparents were Richard FITZ GILBERT De CLARE and Rohese Giffard; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Count Of Clermont and Margaret De ROUCY. He had a brother and a sister, named Gilbert and Adeliza. He died on April 15th, 1136 in Near Abvergavenny, Wales. He was buried in Gloucester.1 1 General Notes
