Raoul I's father was Hugh VIII Sire De Lusignan and his mother was Burgundia Dame De Fontenay. His paternal grandparents were Hugh VII Brunus Sire De Lusignan and Sarasine; his maternal grandfather was Geoffrey De RANOON, Seigneur De Taillebourg. He had a brother named Hugh. He died on May 1st, 1219 in Melle. He was buried in Priory Of Fontblance At Exoudun.1 1 General Notes
