Renaud was born about 1125.1 Renaud's father was Miles Seigneur Of Courtenay and his mother was Ermengard De NEVERS. His paternal grandparents were Jocelin De COURTENAY, Seigneur De Courtenay and Isabel De MONTCHERY; his maternal grandparents were Renaud II Count Of Nevers And Auxerre and Ida Of Forez. He was an only child. He died about October 1190.1 General Notes
