Ruel Reed was born in 1832 in Ohioville, Beaver Co, Pennsylvania.1 Ruel Reed's father was Robert D Dawson and his mother was Elizabeth Reed. His paternal grandparents were Benoni Dawson and Katherine Dorothea Penelope McKinnon. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Benoni, Robert Doyne, Daniel Debolt, William McK, Catherine, Rebecca and Mary A. He died at the age of 76 in 1908.1 General Notes
