Guy II the Red was born in 1037 in Montlhery, France.1   Guy II the Red's father was Guy de Montlhery sn de Montlhery and his mother was Hodierne de Gometz la Ferte.  His paternal grandfather was Thibault de Montlhery; his maternal grandfather was Guillaume de Gometz la Ferte sn de Bures. He had a sister named Isabel.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 71 in 1108.1
