John d' Eu was born in of Teckhill (Tickhill?), Nottingham.1 John d' Eu's father was Henry d'Eu Ct of Eu and his mother was Margaret de Sulli. His paternal grandparents were William d'Eu Ct of Eu and Beatrice de Builly; his maternal grandparents were William de Blois de Sulli and Agnes de Sully. He was an only child.
