Hugh I's father was Eberhard I and his mother was Amadrada. His paternal grandparents were Erenfried I and Adelgunde; his maternal grandparents were Dietrich Of Ringleheim and Ragenhilda. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Erenfried II and Hedwig. He died in 0940.1 General Notes
