Martha A. was born on December 28th, 1828.1 Martha A.'s father was William T. Cherry and her mother was Sarah Ann Fountain. Her maternal grandparents were Dempsey Fountain and Miss Sanders. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William G., John D.W.J., George Riley Thomas, Nancy Frances, Mary AColeman, Rebecca A.T., Belinda Coleman and Lucinda Elizabeth. She was the third oldest of the nine children.1 -
