Narrative
Portrait in Virginia Historical Society, oil on canvas 20" x 16" obtained through merger with the Confederate Memorial Association.
Joined Company F, 49th Virginia Infantry in 1861; saw action at Seven Days, Second Manassas & the Wilderness campaign. After war, employed by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway for twenty-seven years. Active in Confederate organizations & served as commander of the R. E. Lee Camp Soldiers' Home.
