Narrative
Son of Henry, "Hotspur" Percy; 5th earl of Northumberland (1416-55), Henry spent his youth in exile at St. Andrews, in the company of the future James I of Scotland. He was restored to his family's dignity and estates by Henry V in 1416, and became a member of the council of regency on Henry's death in 1422. A supporter of Henry VI's queen, Margaret of Anjou, he opposed Richard, 3rd duke of York, and his allies the Nevilles, hereditary enemies of the Percys; on 22 May 1455 he fought with the Lancastrians at St. Albans and fell fighting the Nevilles.
