Joseph and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1779. They had five sons and six daughters, named Jehu, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Aaron, Joseph, Sarah, Beulah, Catherine Elizabeth, Mary, Eunice and Ann.

Joseph was born on October 21st, 1747 in Hanover Co. Virginia.1 He died at the age of 50 in 1797.
