‌John C. and Martha E. were married in a religious ceremony in 1815.  They had seven sons and four daughters, named Samuel N., deLafayette, Henry Melvin, John F., William Joseph, Robert Mountcastle, David C., Amanda, Mary Ann, Martha and Margaret.
