Joseph was born in 1700 in Henrico Co., VA. Joseph's father was Henry Watkins and his mother was Mary Crispe. His paternal grandparents were Henry Watkins and Katherine Pride. He had five brothers and a sister, named Benjamin, Henry, Thomas, Stephen, John and Mary. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died in Goochland Co., VA.-
