His paternal grandparents were Henry Toler and Cynthia Southall; his maternal grandparents were William Duval and Susan Browne Christian. He had a brother, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Francis Campbell and ?. He died at the age of 5 on May 30th, 1839 in Buckingham Co., Virginia.-
