John was born on September 13th, 1770. John's father was John Tayloe and his mother was Rebecca Plater. His paternal grandparents were John Tayloe and Elizabeth Gwynn; his maternal grandparents were George Plater and Rebecca Tasker Addison. He had ten sisters named Ann Corbin, Mary, Eleanor, Mary, Catherine Griffin, Sarah, ?, Jane, Rebecca Plater and Elizabeth Gwynn. He died at the age of 57 on March 23rd, 1828.-
