Lydia Mosby was born in 1902. Lydia Mosby's father was Benjamin Ladd Purcell and her mother was Lydia Mosby Pleasants. Her maternal grandparents were John Adair Pleasants and Virginia Cary Mosby. She had two brothers and a sister, named John Adair, Benjamin Ladd and Martha Webb. She was the second youngest of the four children.-
