William was born about 1753 in Goochland Co., VA. William's father was William Pryor and his mother was Sarah Wood. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Pryor and Prudence Thornton; his maternal grandparents were Henry Wood and Martha Cocke. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, Joseph, John, Matthew, Valentine Wood, Luke, Sarah, Elizabeth, Patty, Mary, Ann and Martha. He died about 1825 in Goochland Co., VA.General Notes
