Drury Woodson was born on December 7th, 1787 in St. James Northam Parish, Goochland Co, VA. Drury Woodson's father was Robert Poor and his mother was Elizabeth Mimms. His maternal grandparents were Shadrack Mimms and Elizabeth Woodson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Robert E., James, Mary G., Elizabeth, Nancy B. and Marthy Patsy. He died at the age of 67 in 1854 in Frankfort, KY.-
