His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Meriwether and Elizabeth Woodhouse; his maternal grandparents were David Crawford and Jane ?. He had a brother and a sister, named Nicholas and Jane. He died on December 25th, 1744 in Louisa Co., VA.-
