William Taylor was born on May 5th, 1762 in "Montpelier", Orange Co., VA. William Taylor's father was James Madison and his mother was Eleanor Rose Conway. His paternal grandparents were Ambrose Madison and Frances Taylor; his maternal grandparents were Francis Conway and Rebecca Catlett. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Ambrose, Catlett, Reuben, James, Frances, Nellie Conway, Sarah, Elizabeth and Frances Taylor. He died at the age of 81 on July 20th, 1843 in "Montpelier", Orange Co., VA.-
