John Lewis 
John was born in 1726. John's father was Robert Lewis and his mother was Jane Meriwether. His paternal grandparents were John Lewis and Elizabeth Warner; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Meriwether and Elizabeth Crawford. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Charles, Nicholas, Robert, William, Ann, Elizabeth, Mildred, Sarah, Jane Meriwether, Mary and Isabella. He died at the age of 52 in 1778 in Halifax, Granville Co., NC.-
