Peggy Ann was born about 1828. Peggy Ann's father was John T. Johns and her mother was Maria L. Thurston. Her maternal grandparents were Meriwether Thurston and Elizabeth Lowery. She had a brother and five sisters, named James S., Maria, Julia Ann, Charlotte B., Betty P. and Susan J.. She was the third oldest of the seven children.-
