Nancy was born about 1793 in Goochland Co., VA. Nancy's father was Austin Hunter and her mother was Mary ?. Her paternal grandparents were George Hunter and Mildred Austin. She had a brother and three sisters, named Fontaine D., Susanna, Sarah Lee and Lucy J.. She was the third oldest of the five children.
