William P. was born on April 7th, 1841 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia.  William P.'s father was Thompson Hall and his mother was Elizabeth Harris.  His maternal grandfather was John Harris. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Warner N., Jesse Butler, John Robert, Mary Ann, Martha Anderson, Lucinda M., Ellen and Margaret Perlina.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 41 on February 12th, 1883 in Hanover Co., Virginia.
