Katherine was born in 1913.  Katherine's father was Constantine I of Greece and her mother was Sophia Dorothea von Hohenzollern.  Her paternal grandparents were George I of Greece and Olga Constantinova Romanov. She had three brothers and two sisters, named George II of Greece, Alexander of Greece, Paul of Greece, Helen and Irene.  She was the youngest of the six children.
