James Strange French 
James Strange was born on June 12th, 1807 in "Valparaiso", Dinwiddie Co., Virginia. James Strange's father was William French and his mother was Maria Brooke Duval. His maternal grandparents were Daniel Duval and Maria Brooke. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert Strange, Daniel DuVal, George, Euphemia and Maria. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 78 on February 7th, 1886 in Gordonsville, Virginia.-
