Moore was born in 1616 in Crandall, Hampshire, England. Moore's father was John Fauntleroy and his mother was Phoebe Wilkinson. His paternal grandparents were William Fauntleroy and Frances ?; his maternal grandparents were John Wilkinson and Susanna ?. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Henry, Thomas, George, Margery, Mary, Phoebe, Susanna, Anne and Frances. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died before August 1663 in Rappahonnock Co., VA.General Notes
FAUNTLEROY, COL. MOORE, (1610-1663) Son of John of Crondall, Hampshire, England. Mother’s name Phoebe Wilkinson. Great-great grandson of Tristram Fauntleroy of Michels Mersh, Hampshire to VA 1641. First lived in Upper Norfolk Co., then the Northern Neck and finally settled in Lancaster Co. Married 1648 Mary Hill, daughter of Capt. Thomas and Mary Piersey. His maternal grandparents were Abraham Piersey and Elizabeth Draper.
