James Clay Duval 
James Clay was born on October 10th, 1816 in Muldrow's Hill, Kentucky. James Clay's father was Humphrey Brooke Duval and his mother was Mary Anderson Clay. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Duval and Maria Brooke; his maternal grandparents were James Clay and Priscilla Reese. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Daniel, Zebulon Montgomery Pike, Laurence, Oliver Hazard Perry, Eliza Ann James, Betsy Henry, Mary Ann, Mary Eliza, Maria Brooke, Brooke and Philadelphia Dunscomb. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 70 on October 15th, 1886 in Bastrop, Texas.-
