Mary E. was born about 1836. Mary E.'s father was John Thomas Davis and her mother was Margaret Preston. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Davis and Anna Lipscomb. She had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas H., Margaret T. and Susan. She was the oldest of the four children.-
