Merton Ashley Cocke 
Merton Ashley was born after March 4th, 1905. Merton Ashley's father was Merton Ashley Cocke and his mother was Robertine Gilmer Toler. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Knight Cocke and Mary Elizabeth Bowles; his maternal grandparents were Robert William Toler and Pauline Randolph Woodson. He had two brothers named Robert Knight and Elton Cromwell. He was the youngest of the three children.General Notes
Posthumous child - his father was killed by a falling tree during the time when his mother was pregnant with him. He operated the family farm in Rockville until his death in the 1980s.
