Hartwell Cocke

Hartwell was born in 1751 in Surry Co., Virginia.  Hartwell's father was Hartwell Cocke and his mother was Anne Ruffin.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Cocke and Elizabeth Hartwell; his maternal grandparents were John Ruffin and Martha Hamlin. He had a sister named Martha.  He was the older of the two children.
