Sarah Bolling was born in 1786. Sarah Bolling's father was Joseph Cabell and her mother was Pocahontas Rebecca Bolling. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Cabell and Mary Hopkins; her maternal grandparents were Robert Bolling and Susannah Watson. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Charles J., Edward Blair, Benjamin William S., Sophonia E. and Mary P.. She was the second oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John B., Robert Bolling, George W., Jane Randolph, Elizabeth Robertson and Mary Ann Hopkins.-
