William Burleigh 
William was born in 1809 in Goochland Co., VA. William's father was Alexander Burleigh and his mother was Joanna Thurston. His paternal grandparents were James Burnley and Elizabeth Grant; his maternal grandparents were Meriwether Thurston and Elizabeth Lowery. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, Sandy, Alexander and Eliza Ann.-
