Samuel Dabney Burke 
Samuel Dabney was born on June 15th, 1794 in Norfolk, Virginia. Samuel Dabney's father was Richard Floyd Burke and his mother was Betsy Perkinson. He was an only child. He died at the age of 86 on October 17th, 1880.General Notes
He worked in Anderson P. Miller's store at Miller's Tavern in 1817 and became a partner in the store the next year, taking over the operation of the tavern, which then became known as Burke's Tavern, in 1822 and continuing it for many years.
