Mary was born on August 4th, 1763.  Mary's father was Thomas Anderson and her mother was Frances Jones. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Matthew, John, William, Thomas, Fanny, Elizabeth, Sallie, Nancy and Martha.  She was the second oldest of the ten children.
