Robert McTeer 
Robert was born on January 25th, 1739 in Cumberland, Pennsylvania, USA.1 Robert's father was *James McTeer and his mother was *Margaret Anderson. His paternal grandparents were *Unknown and *Unknown; his maternal grandparents were *Unknown and *Unknown. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, John, William and *Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Samuel, Alice and Sarah. He died at the age of 85 on April 6th, 1824 in Blount, Tennessee, USA.1 General Notes
Regarding Blount County, TN and the McTeer family:
"The settlement of Blount County was begun in 1785. The first fort or station was established by Robert McTeer. 'It stood about one and one-half miles south of Eusebia Church. It soon became the nucleus of an excellent neighborhood of intelligent, worthy and patriotic citizens, emigrants principally from the valley of Virginia, who brought with, and diffused aroung them, Republicanism, religion, intelligence and thrift.'
