His paternal grandparents were *Clotaire Meroving and *Ingunde Baderic; his maternal grandparents were *Athanagild Visigoths and *Galswinthe Lady of Vandals. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Carloman De, Carloman, Ingunde and Clodoswinde. He died in France.¹
