Matilda was born in 1170 in Shelford, Nottinghamshire, England.1 Matilda's father was Robert DeCauz and her mother was Agnes DeCauz. Her paternal grandparents were Robert De Caus and Sibel Basset; her maternal grandparents were *UNK and *UNK. She had a brother named Roger DeCauz. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 22 in 1192.1 -
