*Thomas was born in 1335 in Suffolk, England.1 *Thomas' father was *Walter Clopton and his mother was Alice Fitz Hugh. His paternal grandparents were William Clopton and Fnu Pigott; his maternal grandparents were Warin Fitz Hugh and *UNK. He had a brother named William. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 48 in 1383 in Chipley Priory, Suffolk, , England.1 General Notes
He [Thomas Clopton] married Katherine Mylde, of Clare, Suffolk, daughter of William Mylde, of Clare, County Suffolk. She died Bet. February 24, 1402/03 and June 18, 1403 in Tendring Hall, Stokes-by-Nayland, County Suffolk, about 6 miles southwest of Hadleigh, and buried The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, before the altar in the South Chapel.
