King Viserys Targaryen I

Viserys' father was <Unknown> and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were King Jaehaerys Targaryen I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. He was an only child. He died in 0129.

General Notes
- Viserys I succeeded his grandfather, Jaehaerys I, to the Iron Throne. His father and mother are unknown.
  
  Viserys had tree children by his first wife, but only one, his daughter Rhaenyra, lived until adulthood. Therefore, Viserys decided she should succeed him, and he trained her for ruling and made her part of his small council. Later in life, Viserys married a woman from House Hightower and had several sons with her. Rhaenyra remained his heir, a decision he left in his will.
  
  After Viserys' death, the eldest son of his second wife, Aegon II, was crowned by the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Criston Cole. This led to a war between the siblings, better known as the Dance of the Dragons.
