    Grandson of the First Clegane, Ser Gregor is a huge and fierce knight -- nearer 8' than 7' -- called the Mountain that Rides because he dwarfs other knights. 
    
    He was a newly-made knight of 17 years when he took part in the Sack of King’s Landing, where it is whispered that he smashed the head of the infant Prince Aegon against a wall and then raped and murdered his mother, Princess Elia, putting her to the sword.
    
    He is the older brother of Sandor Clegane, but when Ser Gregor inherited the family seat from his father, Sandor immediately departed to take up service with the Lannisters. It is said that the two hate one another.
    
    Ser Gregor has no children, although he has had two wives and is preparing to marry a third.
